I started with art then a presentation motivated me to jump into film. I subsequently left film for a couple decades but always stayed connected through art which worked my way into animation and back to film through the SFSU Cinema MFA program. I have a passion for creating art, film, music and story. I enjoy collaborating with other artists and filmmakers to find better ways to do it. I'm always excited to explore techniques in visual development, production and post production, trying to put a unique flavor into each project I work on. Inspiration comes by finding other artists, new and new to me.
I try to get out into nature as often as possible to find more visual and audio resources for my work but also just to find that recharge that we all need.

Currently working on a feature documentary film about a niche but long-lived cultural phenomenon that started in America in the 1930's and now reaches around the globe. Talking Tiki is our working title and we are exploring the subculture that is tiki. A little about where it came from, where it went, what it has become and where it looks to be going.
I am officially titled Creative Director on this project but I've been on camera, audio, lighting, color, edit and more all along the way. I am fortunate to have 2 partners on this film that have handled much of the directing and producing but each one of us has worn every hat at various stages of this massive production.
We have been shooting across the US and look forward to sharing this unique, thought-provoking and fun documentary with the world.

While working away on current personal, and freelance projects I have also been teaching film making from intro lectures and labs to intermediate editing workshop courses and senior thesis and MFA courses in story development and production practice. Nothing beats guiding a group of engaged and energized students!
